Ensembles
There are many ensemble options and performance opportunities that are available to students in the Campbell High School Band. Below you will find information on our main performing groups here at CHS.
Concert Band
Concert Band serves as the entry-level ensemble in our high school band program. While it is not a "true beginner" course, it is designed for incoming 9th grade students transitioning from middle school band, as well as for students who would benefit from additional training to strengthen their foundational skills.
This ensemble will perform in three concerts throughout the school year, providing students with valuable performance experience and ensemble development.
Students who wish to be considered for placement in a higher-level ensemble may audition prior to the start of the school year.
Symphonic Band
The Symphonic Band is a premier performing ensemble at Campbell High School, composed of students who demonstrate advanced musical ability and ensemble skills. Members of this group are expected to perform Grade 3, 4, and 5 concert band literature and engage in the study of more complex musical concepts and techniques.

Students in the Symphonic Band will prepare and perform challenging repertoire while working toward mastery of the Campbell High School “Intermediate” Level Requirements, as outlined in the band curriculum. Participation in this ensemble reflects a strong commitment to musical growth and excellence.
Symphony Winds
The Wind Symphony is the flagship ensemble of Campbell High School, representing the highest level of musical excellence within the band program. Students in this ensemble demonstrate exceptional musicianship and technical proficiency, performing advanced repertoire including Grade 5, Grade 6, and Masterworks literature.

Membership is primarily comprised of upperclassmen, particularly juniors and seniors, who have shown a strong commitment to their craft and a consistent record of high-level performance. Participation in the Wind Symphony requires dedication, advanced ensemble skills, and a willingness to meet the program’s highest artistic standards.
Spartan Marching Band
The Marching Spartan Band is the premier fall ensemble of the Campbell High School Band program. As a competitive, the Marching Spartans strive to display pageantry and a high level of musicianship with every field show. The band also performs a wide-ranging repertoire of music designed to delight and energize audiences at every performance.

Beyond performance, the Marching Spartan Band fosters student growth in discipline, self-confidence, teamwork, and musical excellence. Members of the ensemble perform at football games, community parades, marching competitions, exhibitions, and battle of the bands.

The Marching Spartans are committed to delivering high-impact, memorable shows that showcase technical precision, musical artistry, and school spirit.
Jazz Band
The Campbell High School Jazz Ensemble is made up of talented student musicians from the band program who share a passion for jazz. Membership is by audition, and students must be enrolled in a band class to participate.
The ensemble performs a variety of jazz styles, including swing, funk, blues, and Latin, with a strong emphasis on improvisation and groove-based performance.
As the program continues to grow, future offerings will include a New Orleans-style brass band, expanding students’ exposure to the rich traditions and rhythms of American jazz.
Small Ensembles
CHS has various small ensemble offerings for students participating in the band program.

The Morning Ensemble is a student led group that performs in the the spring.

The Percussion Ensemble is open to all band students at CHS. This ensemble allows for students to learn percussion techniques and prepare a spring performance.

Chamber Groups: are assigned by directors or created by students to perform at various events in and out of CHS.
