Below, you’ll find everything you need to take your first step toward becoming part of something bigger than yourself

Marching Band Information

  1. Enrollment in the CHS band class is required to participate in any extra-curricular ensembles. Exceptions are made for IB Juniors and Seniors on a case by case basis.​ Email or speak with a band director if you have any questions.

  2. Band camp is a MANDATORY EVENT. Any student who misses band camp will not be allowed to participate with the Legion of Boom for the year.

    1. ​Students are required to attend SUMMER BAND CAMP that takes place in July. Students that miss band camp will not be able to participate. Please click the link to access the band camp page for dates and important information.

  3. Parents: Attend the mandatory new student information meeting that is held in May 14th 2026 at 7pm in the CHS band room. This meeting is mandatory for your student to participate. Please contact that band directors early if there is a conflict to make alternate arrangements.

  4. Review the Marching Band Handbook, Band Fee Breakdown, and complete Commitment Fee.

    1. Returning student deposit due April 16th, 2026.

    2. New student deposit by May 14th, 2026.

  5. Please review the documents posted below.

Materials Needed:

  • Instrument in working order

    • Limited small instrument inventory. Students may need to rent or own their own instrument.

    • Larger ​instruments are available for checkout.

  • Instrument accessories: tuner, valve oil, slide grease, cork grease, proper mallets & sticks, spare reeds, mouthpieces, etc.

    • Woodwinds should be on a #3 reed​

  • Music AND pencil (for physical copies)

  • Black 1” three ring binder and sheet protectors

  • A devise to access the Ultimate Dot Book (UDB) for drill work and BEAM for music

    • Phone or Tablet​​​​​​​
